Slimaluma
Slimaluma is derived from the Caralluma Fimbriata plant. This vegetable has been in common use in India, where it originates, for thousands of years. Tribes of India chewed chunks of the Caralluma Fimbriata to suppress their hunger when food sources were short. In fact, the natural plant is still used in modern India’s labor classes to suppress their hunger and provide them with energy to work through the day without breaks. Adding on to this plant’s impressive tradition is the fact that scientists have worked to develop it into a wonderful ingredient in high quality dietary supplements. It works by tricking your brain into thinking the stomach is full. Particularly it fools the hypothalamus, the part of the brain that tells us we are hungry. If you have not eaten in a while, your stomach nerves will signal to the hypothalamus that it is time to eat. Slimaluma prevents these signals from getting to the hypothalamus. Specifically, Pregnane Glycosides found in the Caralluma Fimbriata prevent the nerves in the stomach from firing, thus fooling the brain into not feeling hungry. It is in this way that Slimaluma promotes fat loss and weight loss so effectively. Slimaluma also inhibits two enzymes (Acetyl Co-Enzyme A and Malonyl Co-Enzyme A) that are key to fat synthesis. Without the proper function of these enzymes, fat cells cannot accumulate on the body. It is a pretty amazing plant that can accomplish all of this!
Clinical Studies
A nine-month long clinical study that was conducted in India at the Division of Nutrition of St. John’s National Academy of Health Sciences. Fifty subjects participated in this double-blind, placebo-controlled experiment in 2003. Half of the participants were given doses of 500mg Slimaluma an hour before each meal. Results and time frame for each person’s body to react to Slimaluma over the nine-month period varied significantly. The Slimaluma group saw a significant decrease in body weight, body mass, waist circumference, and hip circumference. In addition, researchers found a statistically significant loss of fat and decrease in hunger level in the Slimaluma group. This is a very strong testament to the efficacy of Slimaluma as an aid to weight loss.
Safety and Side Effects
Scientists have now confirmed that Slimaluma is completely safe in the recommended doses. Some adverse effects in gastro-intestinal function have been reported, however these were very minor and did not necessitate the cessation of Slimaluma supplementation. These side effects all subsided within a week of taking Slimaluma. No other side effects were reported and, after the nine-month trial, no adverse health conditions were reported by and of the study participants.
