Phase 2

Much has been said about lowering our intake of carbohydrates in order to have an effective diet program, but carb-rich foods are very popular and can be hard to cut out of our diets. Phase 2 is a natural supplement ingredient derived from the white bean (kidney bean). It does not act as a stimulant like most diet pill ingredients, but rather interferes the ingestion and absorption of carbohydrates into the blood stream. This reduces the body’s caloric intake and lowers the glycemic content in the blood. It works by inhibiting the body’s production of alpha-amylase – the enzyme used to break down and digest starches. Without this enzyme at work the body will not break down carbohydrates into sugars that circulate into the bloodstream. Specifically, Phase 2 targets the alpha-amylase enzyme. This means you can ingest starchy foods without digesting them! The unabsorbed materials will simply pass through your body as waste. Phase 2 can help diabetics prevent the dangerous blood sugar spike that follows a meal rich in carbs. It is also quite helpful for those people who are on a diet program, but do not wish to cut out carbs from their diet entirely.

Clinical History

The concept behind carb blockers is not all that new. Scientists have studied different types of carb blockers over the years and found that none of them were very effective until Phase 2. These older, ineffective starch blockers were ineffective because they did not target alpha-amylase specifically, but rather target other enzymes that were irrelevant to the digestion of starch. Testing is conducted by measuring the exact amount of starches put into the body, and then comparing it to the amount of starch that is excreted. Fecal matter is measured for starch content and when the number is very low, scientists know that a large percentage of the starch was digested and the starch blocker is not working effectively. The University of Pennsylvania at Scranton has published promising results that support the effectiveness of Phase 2. In a 30-day trial, test subjects lost 3.9% of their body mass and 10.45% of their body fat mass. For someone weighing around 200 pounds, this means losing 8 pounds in a month!

It’s Safe!

Even taking large quantities of Phase 2 has caused no harmful side effects in humans. It has been on the market for years and there have been no reported incidents that would make Phase 2 seem like an unhealthy choice.

Phase 2 is for You!

Imagine that you can quit counting the exact number of calories your diet will allow you. Imagine being able to indulge in real food that tastes great, while not having to worry that you are putting on extra pounds. Taking the supplement ingredient alone is proven to be effective, but if you combine Phase 2 with regular exercise, the results can be awesome! It is unlike other starch blockers that have proven to be ineffective. Phase 2 is specialized for your body!
