The Science Behind LipoZyne

To give you the down low on LipoZyne, we’ll start by giving a quick breakdown of the claims made by the company in order to evaluate how the science compares to the advertising.  It is important to realize that almost no diet pill actually lives up to its advertising, but you should expect at least most of the ingredients and dosages to be supported by reputable studies.

EnerZin Research Laboratories claim that LipoZyne is:

  1. A “revolutionary new formula that’s perfect for fighting back fat and staying energized.”
  2. It is “enhanced with CLA to boost metabolism”
  3. and Guarana to support increased energy
  4. Plus, ingredients are added to help curb your appetite.

First, we’ll just say there is nothing revolutionary about LipoZyne, but we accept this is a common marketing term. As for fighting back fat…there is no evidence that any of the ingredients here will target fat on your back…unless they mean that it can “fight back” against fat, in which case it still isn’t too potent.

LipoZyne does contain CLA, which has been shown in some studies to increase fat loss to about 90 grams per week, which is modest to be sure.  However, this study was done with a dose of 3.2 grams daily, or over 60 times the dosage in LipoZyne.

Guarana is known to boost metabolism and increase energy temporarily because it contains caffeine, so they’re right about that at least.  As for the other ingredients to curb your appetite, they are most likely referring to hoodia and garcinia cambogia.  While hoodia is one of the most hyped weight loss ingredients, it should be noted that in the years since its “discovery” and initial studies by Pfizer, there have not been any significant peer-reviewed studies to show that its appetite suppression results in weight loss.  Garcinia has perhaps more reliable evidence to support its function as an appetite suppressant, but neither hoodia nor garcinia are included here in the recommended dosages.

Here’s the full formula for your info:

  • Hoodia Gordonii – 100 mg
  • Guarana Seed – 100 mg
  • Guggulsterones – 50 mg
  • Garcinia Cambogia – 50 mg
  • Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) – 50 mg
  • Chromium Polynicotinate – 200 mcg

LipoZyne Side Effects

Though there shouldn’t be any significant side effects from this formula, some users have reported diarrhea and nausea with use of LipoZyne.  Consult with your doctor before deciding to use.

LipoZyne Policies

There is no mention of a return policy or satisfaction guarantee on the EnerZin website.  It appears that LipoZyne is only sold through secondary online retailers, so it is doubtful you’d be able to get any money back if you weren’t satisfied.

LipoZyne Lowest Price

The list price from the company website is $19.99, though it may be purchased for a little cheaper elsewhere.

Does LipoZyne Work?

Though LipoZyne does contain a number of good ingredients for weight loss, like chromium, garcinia cambogia, guarana, guggulsterones and CLA, none of these ingredients are found in a dose which might be considered effective”.  LipoZyne seems to be the perfect example of a product that lures you in with a good formula and hopes you don’t realize that it there are only token amounts of the ingredients.  Definitely not going to work anywhere near as well as it should.
