The Science Behind Linée

Linée, an appetite-suppressant diet pill from MedPodium, is a relatively new product that has only a few studies to back up its main ingredient – Appexium.  While new “breakthroughs” in weight loss science are always exciting, it is never clear whether they are legitimate until there is enough science and consistent customer reviews out there.  At this point, the makers of Linée cite only a few scientific studies to support the legitimacy of its formula:

  • Appexium – 150 mg
  • Vitamin B12
  • Vitamin D3

Both studies cited were done by Kemin Health and on a version of the Linée ingredient Appexium called Slendesta, which is a protein extract of the white potato that has been linked to the release of cholecystokinin (CCK) in the body and may potentially promote feelings of satiety to reduce food consumption.  The results of the studies were statistically significant (unlikely to be just coincidence) but not particularly significant in terms of actual weight loss:

  • Study 1: 240 male and female adults were randomly assigned a dose of Slendesta or placebo and continued taking it over 12 weeks.  According to the study “when compared to the placebo group at week 12, the [Slendesta] group exhibited a statistically significant greater weight loss of 0.60 kg than placebo”
  • Study 2: With apparently no placebo control, this 20-week study found weight loss of, on average 5.3 kg (11.7 lbs).

Linée Side Effects

In the course of the studies that have been done on ingredients in Linée so far, there haven’t been any serious side effects reported.

Linée Policies

MedPodium, makers of Linée, offer a 30-day money back policy, but with a few particulars.  First, it must be purchased directly from their official site.  While they imply that they offer a “satisfaction guarantee”, they also state that they cannot accept returns on “overly used products”…which means that if you’ve actually tried enough Linée to decide whether or not it works, it will be too late for you to get any refund if it doesn’t work.

Linée Lowest Price

Linée sells for $24 per bottle (plus shipping) and will last you 30-days.  That’s about four weeks, so in order to expect the best-case scenario of the studies done on its active ingredient,  you would need to buy 5 month’s supply.  In that scenario, you’d be paying roughly $125 for about 12 pounds of weight loss.

Does Linée Work?

Based on the two studies which have been done on an ingredient similar to the active ingredient in Linée, you may expect to lose up to one pound per week…and that would be among the best results that even the studies observed.  While we are always excited about products that offer safe, healthy ingredients for weight loss, without enough legitimate scientific literature or peer-reviewed studies, we can’t really be sure that it works.  Even if Linée works as promised, it is definitely not cost-effective.  We say don’t bother with Linée until there are at least some positive customer reviews out there.  As of yet there are none whatsoever.
