The Science Behind Natrol Slenderite
Natrol Slenderite is a diet pill that claims to boost your energy, metabolism and mood while at the same time suppressing your appetite and blocking dietary carbohydrates from being digested. It sounds too good to be true, but as the saying goes, “if it sounds too good to be true, you should definitely buy it”…or at least I think that’s how the saying goes. Seriously though, you can’t just take a product at its word without looking into the scientific basis for the claims. Here’s what we know about Slenderite.
Each dose contains:
- Chromium (Chromium Picolinate) – 100 mcg
- Phase 2 Starch Neutralizer White Kidney Bean Extract – 750 mg
- Green Tea Extract (Camellia Sinensis) – 270 mg
- EGCG (Epigallocatechin Gallate) – 135 mg
- 5 HTP (5-Hydroxytryptophan) – 75 mg
- Caffeine – 75 mg
The primary ingredient here is Phase 2, a bean extract, which as silly as it sounds actually has quite a bit of evidence to say it can help block carbohydrate absorption. Granted, we’re not talking miraculous results, but every little bit helps right? With green tea and EGCG you are getting a good dose of antioxidants. 5-HTP has been shown to be a clinically effective chemical precursor to serotonin that may help alleviate depression but not provide a noticeable improvement in mood for those who are not serotonin deficient. Finally, caffeine is the most common ingredient you’ll find in any diet pill and can provide a temporary increase in metabolism to burn extra calories.
Safety Concerns:
As Natrol is a publicly traded company, they really can’t afford to take risks with safety issues and there definitely isn’t much risk of side effects with Slenderite. With only 75 mg of caffeine (less than in a cup of coffee) you may have a mild buzz but as long as you don’t take it after 6 pm you shouldn’t have trouble sleeping.
Natrol Slenderite Policies
While we can only assume that Natrol offers a manufacturers guarantee for defective diet pills, there is no mention on the site of a satisfaction guarantee. For a company that big, it isn’t surprising to see a lack of satisfaction guarantee to reduce the number of returns they have to deal with, but it does tend to give them an excuse to churn out weak diet pills.
Natrol Slenderite Lowest Price
Natrol Slenderite lists at $23 per bottle, which is a pretty affordable to begin with, but you can find it for a little cheaper if you buy it in bulk.
Does Natrol Slenderite Work?
There is no question that Natrol Slenderite is safe and contains some good ingredients. It also sells for a pretty reasonable price. However, the results you get according to their studies are unlikely to get you too excited. The studies done on Phase 2 show that in the course of 12 weeks of treatment, test subjects lost about 7 pounds on averag as opposed to the average 2.4 pounds lost by those taking placebo. You could get a little extra kick from the caffeine, but in the best case scenario a month’s supply of Natrol Slenderite may only be helping you lose a few extra pounds.
